If you want to be able to have a conversation in Swedish, pronunciation should be priority number one 😊. Grammar can be very important for writing, but when speaking, pronunciation is the key.
This course is for all of you who are starting your Swedish journey. With this course on Swedish pronunciation, you will start that journey with the right foot 😁.
This course is also great for those of you who have studied and know quite a bit of Swedish but still don't feel completely comfortable when speaking 😅.
During the course you will learn how to pronounce ALL the different vowel sounds and when to use them! 🤯 You will also learn lots about letter combinations with tips and tricks that will help you have a full understanding of how and why things are pronounced in Swedish.
Daniella grew up bilingual (Spanish and Swedish) and has always been interested in different languages and cultures.
She has been teaching Swedish for several years and she believes that learning in a fun an engaging way is the best way to learn.
She is the creator of the Instagram account @fun_swedish and the Facebook group "Learn Swedish in a fun way!". There she uploads daily content to try to make Swedish Fun for everyone.
When she is not making content she is teaching Swedish in Stockholm or learning a new language herself. Now she is working on her Italian.
What you will learn
Swedish has 9 vowels and 18 vowels sounds 🇸🇪. In this course you will learn how to distinguish between all of them. With tips and tricks that will help you hear and practice the way to pronounce then like a Swede 😉.
You will learn the difference between hard vowels and soft vowels and why it matters 🤓. The difference between long vowel sounds and short vowel sounds. And when to use each of them! 😮
You will learn rules around consonants that change sound depending on the situation... like G and K 🕵️♂️.
We will go through some strange Swedish sounds that are not as common in other languages. Like the sound Swedes make when they say 7 (Sju). When do you use it and how do you make it? Same thing with 20 (tjugo).
Do combinations like “SJ”, “SKJ”, “STJ”, “TJ” and “KJ” look confusing or impossible to pronounce to you? 🤔 We will unveil those mysteries!
We will also talk about the differences between written Swedish and spoken Swedish 😊. Swedish melody, and all the letters that are either not pronounced or behave strangely.
